Overview Enter first-year studies at Trent University and you could receive as much as $30,000 through one of the institution’s prestigious entrance scholarships. Canadian applicants with a final admission average of 80% or higher are eligible, and a single application makes you eligible for all of these awards. Available Prestigious Scholarships - Champlain Scholarship - For entering students who demonstrate exceptional academic accomplishment and potential. - Value: $7,500 per year (up to $30,000). Two awards available annually. - Board of Governor’s Leadership Scholarship - For an incoming student who has shown outstanding leadership, community involvement and academic success. - Value: $7,500 per year (up to $30,000). One award available annually. - Special Admission Scholarship - For entering students with excellent academic records and strong extracurricular involvement. - Value: $4,500 per year (up to $18,000). Ten awards available annually. - Canada-Wide Science Fair Scholarship - For an entering student of excellent academic and extracurricular achievement who earned a medal or an honourable mention for a senior-level project at the Canada-Wide Science Fair within the last two calendar years. - Value: $4,500 per year (up to $18,000). One award available annually. - The Michael Treadwell Scholarship - Awarded every four years to an entering student of exceptional achievement and promise who intends to major in the humanities. - Value: $4,500 per year (up to $18,000). Note: Two awards will be available in the 2025/26 academic year. How to Apply One application qualifies you for consideration for all prestigious scholarships. The application opens each November on your myTrent applicant portal (look under the Finances tab). Application deadline: February 28. Eligibility - Must be a Canadian student entering first year at Trent with a final admission average of 80% or higher. - Must be admitted to and enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program. Additional Information and Conditions - These scholarships can be renewed for up to four years of undergraduate study if you maintain at least an 80% average in a full course load during the previous academic year. - A student may receive only one major Trent University entrance scholarship. - If you have been offered a national renewable entrance scholarship and are later selected for a higher-value prestigious scholarship, the national award will be replaced by the prestigious scholarship. - Recipients of the Special Admission, Canada-Wide Science Fair, or Michael Treadwell scholarships who have a final admissions average of 95% or higher will receive a Full Tuition scholarship for their first year. The Full Tuition scholarship value for 2025–26 is $6,118. - Applicants with a final entrance average of 80% or higher who either did not apply for, or were not selected for, a prestigious scholarship will automatically be considered for Trent’s National Renewable Entrance Scholarships, which range from $1,500 to $4,000 per year.
